Housing Services

Hope House

Hope House is a permanent supportive housing program designed to enable homeless persons with HIV/AIDS to live independently. Through Hope House, Acadiana CARES provides services for residents in a twelve (12) bed long-term facility. Each individual bed is for individuals with an HIV/AIDS diagnosis who meet HUD's definition of homeless. Clients receive case management and other necessary support services in the attempt to keep them stable and no longer homeless. In the operating year for this grant, Acadiana C.A.R.E.S. provided assistance to 21 individuals. Of those individuals, eight have moved on to alternate permanent housing and seven remained in Hope House as to the end of the operating period.
