Educational Presentations

CARES staff certified in HIV testing and counseling provide up to date, comprehensive information about HIV/AIDS and other STDs in presentations that promote honest discussion about sexual health. One of the factors driving the HIV epidemic is widespread misinformation about how the retrovirus IS spread and IS NOT spread and a lack of risk reduction education. CARES has been teaching safer sex skills for over 25 years and we are happy for any opportunity to teach people in Acadiana how to stop the epidemic.

We conduct HIV/STD 101 every second Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at CARES and staff also conducts presentations throughout the community.
