Mr. Martin has been active in the fight against HIV/AIDS for over 25 years. He helped organize Lafayette CARES in 1985, 10 years before its scope broadened to become Acadiana CARES, and has been working with the agency and the community it serves ever since. He has been the CEO since October 1998. Mr. Martin is on the Board of Directors of Louisiana AIDS Advocacy Network (LAAN), Southern AIDS Coalition (SAC), and National AIDS Housing Coalition (NAHC). Mr. Martin holds a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling and a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Behavioral Sciences, both from the University of Southwest Louisiana (now University of Louisiana at Lafayette).
