The St. Francis program is a secondary treatment program, lasting up to 9 months, in a long-term residential environment. Like Pathways, St. Francis utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches in group and individual sessions including: the 12-Step recovery philosophy. relapse prevention, cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, recreation groups, yoga, family therapy, and didactic sessions to increase awareness. These therapeutic sessions are also supplemented with psycho-educational and self-help support groups focusing on specific medical, social, physical, and psychological concerns of our community. Through these groups, clients are able to work with peers who share similar obstacles, develop coping skills, and address their individual needs.
The highly-structured setting is an effective opportunity for people in revovery to make the necessary modifications and secure the life-skills to positively, and permanently, change their lives.
