Healthcare

Because good health is essential for a productive and vibrant life, providing access to quality health and medical care in a welcoming and supportive environment is an essential part of our mission. We know that health and wellness begin before you start to feel sick and can involve many factors ranging from STI testing to mental health. For this reason, the Health Clinic at AcadianaCares offers services to support the whole person.

Community Outreach

Outreach brings people into care. That’s why we go out into our community to share important information about HIV/AIDS prevention and wellness.

We educate people at health fairs and other community events, and we connect with those who are at greater risk, such as the homeless and intravenous drug users through street outreach.

AcadianaCares also provides prevention literature and materials, as well as referrals to community resources like HIV/STI testing and social service support.

Education

Education helps prevent new infections, improves quality of life for people living with HIV, and helps to reduce the stigma associated with the virus. AcadianaCares gives people information about HIV, how it’s spread, and how people can protect themselves from infection.

We are unable to respond to emergency needs. If you have a medical emergency, please call 911 immediately.

* The Health Clinic at AcadianaCares earned Federally Qualified Health Center Look-Alike (FQHC LAL) designation on 8/1/2019.
